My top 7 everyday uses for coconut oil!

Okay guys, so I can't rave enough about coconut oil! It has literally changed my family's life and we use it all throughout the day. Not only is it SUPER versatile and healthy...it smells A M A Z I N G!

Here are my top 7 everyday uses for coconut oil;

1. Cooking- We use it as a super healthy alternative to cooking oil. We love to saute our veggies in it and it works really well. You can also use it as a substitute to butter when baking and I highly recommend that because its a HEALTHY alternative and of course we all know butter is not!

2. Body wash for the babies- Did you know that coconut oil has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties? Did you also know that it's 100% all natural and safe for baby's soft and delicate skin? It is! Coconut oil is such a great all natural alternative to typical baby body washes found on store shelves. Mainstream body washes for babies, whether they claim all natural or not, can contain HUNDREDS of toxic and carcinogenic chemicals that your babies skin is literally soaking up...totally scary right!? I like to just run my children's bath water and put some coconut oil right in letting it diffuse right into the warm water. The result?  Totally soft and chemical free baby skin that you can snuggle on! :)

3. Lotion- Just like stated above, lotions of all kinds contain really harmful chemicals and I don't know about you but I'm really weary over what I put on my skin because it's our largest organ. What you put topically on your skin get's absorbed directly into your bloodstream. Coconut oil effortlessly just soaks into your skin naturally and feels amazing. It leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized while giving you peace of mind because it's healthy for you.

4. Makeup remover- Just try it one time and I promise you'll never want to use another makeup remover again. It gets the job done especially on the super delicate skin around the eyes. It also leaves your skin moisturized and baby soft!

5. Hot oil treatment- Any ethnicity and any hair texture can benefit from coconut oil in their hair. If you have very course hair you can use it and leave it in to nourish and add shine to your locks. If you have fine-medium hair you can apply it all over, put a processing cap on, and let the steam from the shower literally open your cuticle allowing the oil to nourish and then rinse out and you'll notice the difference immediately. This leaves all textures soft, healthy and shiny!

6. Toothpaste- I mix equal parts coconut oil and baking soda to create a "paste" and it's all natural and super healthy! Most importantly it's fluoride free which might sound a little weird if you've never been educated on the HARMFUL effects of fluoride. That's a topic for another post! ;) You can add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to give it a refreshing taste and smell.

7. Deodorant- You want to know the easiest and most healthy for your skin deodorant recipe? Baking soda and coconut oil! It keeps you fresh and dry all day...seriously. I'll say it again, I'm really weary about what I put on my skin and because of talc and aluminum in almost all deodorants I stay away from them. I'm really uncomfortable putting carcinogenics on my skin, especially so close to my breast area.

There are so many more uses for coconut oil that I'm not even touching upon right now and if you use coconut oil please comment on this post because I want to hear from you! Also if you have any questions please comment. :)

My favorite brand is Spectum's Organic Coconut Oil and you can find it in the baking section of any grocery store.
